Miss Amy joined Showcase Dance Studio in 2017 and teaches hip-hop classes for all ages. She is originally from Oak Creek and, at the age of six, began her formal dance training - learning the foundations of ballet, tap, jazz and hip-hop.
She was a member of the Oak Creek High School Varsity Poms team and notably placed fifth in the Midwest for her solo performance at the 2011 Miss Badgerette competition. She also placed first for a trio routine at the Badgerette Spirit competition in 2013.
Miss Amy received her Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations and Master's Degree in Communications from Marquette University. It was at Marquette where she found her passion for the hip-hop dance style as a member of Hype Dance Company, a student-run hip-hop team that is the oldest urban dance group in Milwaukee. With Hype Dance Company, Miss Amy learned advanced choreography and received training by respected hip-hop dancers from the Milwaukee, Chicago and L.A. areas. As a team captain during her junior year and a co-director her senior year, she helped to coordinate two Milwaukee hip-hop dance showcases per year on the Marquette campus.
Miss Amy brings energy and enthusiasm to her classes and loves seeing her students get excited about hip-hop music and urban movement. Outside of dance, Miss Amy works full-time as the managing editor and public relations coordinator at the Wisconsin Dental Association. She resides in Franklin with her husband and their cat.
